Hello Parents!
Can you believe it is almost time to send your kiddos back to school?!? For me, this summer has FLOWN by! If you are a new parent of mine (aka your sweet kiddo is about to enter 7th grade) WELCOME!!! I am beyond thrilled to explore math with your kiddo this year! This is the main way I use to stay in contact with parents! You will find lots of helpful information here! I try my best to let you know on a weekly basis what is happening in my class-just so you can stay connected and informed. Sometimes life happens and I may not be able to be as in depth as I would like but I hope you can forgive me! :] As we are approaching the start of school, I wanted to reach out to you all for the supplies they will be using in class this year. I have tried to make it easy and created a list on Amazon that shows items that the kids will need, items that are optional for them to have, and items I would greatly appreciate as a donation to my classroom for use with the students. Here is that list: http://amzn.com/sl/3IZ3IW4UN97J5 I wanted to bring attention to the graphing calculator I have placed on the list. The calculator model I am recommending is the same model we will use in class. Yes, I do have a class set of calculators for student use. The reason this is on my list is so you can think about making the investment with your student now. This calculator model is the same one I used through high school and all through college so I can see the importance of having one to learn how to use and grow with. This is optional for the students as I know they are expensive and I have a class set. I just wanted to put it out there in case you were wondering what kind of calculator to get your student for them to grow with. I am also not sure if the high school supplies calculators when they get there. If school supply shopping is tough on your family's finances, PLEASE check out the AWESOME Back to School Festival at the high school in August! Click on the link to find out more about this AMAZING event! http://www.back2schoolfestival.org/ As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to let me know! Enjoy the last bit of summer! -Ms. Lyons @MsLyonsDen
