I wanted to give you all an update on the end of year events going on for Valle Crucis 8th Graders. Please see more information below.

NCFE: North Carolina Final Exam EOG: End of Grade EOC: End of Course (Worth 25% of Overall Grade) Hello VC Family! After getting a phone call about school being out and going back to sleep for a little longer, the beautiful snow scene that was waiting for me and Kovu outside of my apartment was such a fantastic sight! I hope you all are enjoying the snow but also staying warm. I have been enjoying some time snuggling with Kovu while we watch the snow fall. I wanted to send out some updates to let you all know what is going on around the school as well as in each of my math classes. Around Valle Crucis

I think that is all I have for now! I hope to see the kids on Friday for school! Thanks! Ms.Lyons @MsLyonsDen Hello Parents, Guardians, and Students, I hope you all have been staying warm with these cold days! I think they finally caught Elsa and all should be getting a little bit warmer in the next few days! With the new semester upon us in the New Year, I took a look at my late work policy and felt like it needed a little more revision as to put more responsibility in the hand of the students and give me a better way to track missing work. So, I did just that! I have revised my late work policy and wanted to share it with you all as to keep everyone on the same page when it comes to late work in your student's math class. Please read below on how the new late work policy will be implemented starting tomorrow!
Thank you! Ms. Lyons @MsLyonsDen Hello Parents/Guardians, I don't know about you but a three day weekend if just what I needed! I spent the weekend off the mountain and even got a chance to drive a convertible which I have to admit was pretty awesome! Even with an enjoyable weekend, I was excited to get back into the classroom with my students! Here is a peak on this week around VC and in your student's math class: Around Valle Crucis

Have a great week! -Ms. Lyons @MsLyonsDen Hello Parents and Guardians, I cannot believe that the first nine weeks of the school year is already over! It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming students back to Valle Crucis and now we are already in the 10th week of school! I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! I know I did by watching another App State win on the football field! I had a bunch of friends from college up and it was nice to catch up and enjoy a beautiful fall day together! For the past two years, I have sent home weekly updates to parents about what is going on in my classroom and around the school. I haven't done a blog post yet this year and I have had several parents request me to bring it back so here we are! I think that is all! Thanks for reading through the entire post for important information about what is going on at school and in your student's math class. Have a great week! -Ms. Lyons @MsLyonsDen Hello Parents/Guardians,
It is that time of year again-testing time. I wanted to send you the testing schedule for all 7th and 8th graders.
If you have a student in Math 1, you will notice that there is a big gap from when class instruction is over and when testing begins. To accommodate these students, I will hold Math 1 study sessions after school on May 25 & May 26 to help them prepare for their EOC and give them additional study materials. These sessions will start at 2:30pm and last until 3:30pm. If your student plans to stay after school, you must be prompt to pick up your student. I will also have study sessions during the morning of May 25 & May 26th while the 7th graders are testing. Math 1 parents, please remember that the Math 1 EOC is worth 35% of their final Math 1 grade. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me! We are almost there eveyone! Thanks! Ms. Lyons Hello All! Wow it's been a while since I have had time to sit down and do one of these updates! I am happy to be sitting here, watching the Falcon's win, and writing you this update. I hope you find it informative! 8th Grade Trip

I do hope you will forgive me! Here is an update for you to read through! I know you have ben eagerly waiting for one :] General School Announcements
